Hey all, we just had an opening in our bi-weekly gaming group, if anyone is interested in joining up drop me a line.

Here is the message that one of our players put up in a local gaming store:

Hello all,
My name's Dave, and my current game group is "shopping around" for a new
member (or possibly two) and I thought I'd put a post here.
We're a mature (average age around 32), well-established group (our two
'youngest' members have been with us for at least two years) of Real Life
professionals that meet in North Hills every two weeks on a set Sunday
afternoon/evening schedule. We have very few, if any, pick-up games, and
are more likely to skip a game entirely due to Real Life than try to
rearrange schedules to "fit one in" on an off-weekend. Basically, we're all
adults that enjoy getting together for a game twice a month, but understand
well the fact that Real Life trumps Game.
We have two gamemasters at any point in time and alternate games, so that
no one GM must plan for more than one game a month and everyone gets to be a
player at least once a month. It's a system that works for us and we have
no plans to change it. Our 'portfolio' of games include (over the last five
years, or so): Wheel of Time, Cyberpunk, Modern, Urban Arcana, Star Wars, 3e
DnD, and Marvel-based MnM Superheroes. Most-recently concluded was an Urban
Planes campaign that wrapped the classic Manual of the Planes in the Urban
Arcana ruleset and added a dash of Spelljammer for the sheer fun of it. It
proved to be one of the group's longest and most popular campaigns yet.
We have two brand-new campaigns starting up very soon: a d20-Future-based
Battlestar Galactica game (taking place at the same time as RDM's Reimagined
Series, but with a different group of survivors); and a Traveller game
(though I honestly can't remember if the GM's going to run Classic or T20).
This will also be the first time that both games will be of similar genres,
though we figured that BSG and Traveller are different enough that we can
avoid sci-fi-burnout. Normally we'd run two completely different games.
Oh, well. We'll see.
We meet at the house of one of our members and so we occasionally kick in
some cash to keep us all in drinks and munchies. Two of our members take
turns carpooling from Pasadena, a habit more of us are willing to adopt if
it's convenient. We don't drink during the game, and we don't Monty Haul
either, but we do devolve into the occasional discussion of religion and/or
politics (warning: dems outnumber reps, but we're respectful of each other)
until the GM gets his game together and threatens XP demerits until we shut
up.
That's pretty much it. If you're interested, email me and let me know. I
look forward to discussing and/or meeting up to talk sometime.
All the best and thanks for your time,
Dave
