Hypothetically speaking:

If you could invite any celebrity, public persona, someone featured on the news, role model, best friend, or once-in-a-lifetime participant in such an event, who would you want to see invited to a celebrity role-playing game.

My examples are Vin Diesel, Maynard James Keenan, and media wigs & politicians. I would want to see Maynard as a psychotic bard, and Vin as anything! wink I'd love to have someone big in the media like Barbara Walters or Steven Colbert, and a lineup of two or three controversial or well-spoken politicians in the US national and international governments. All politicians being non-war-related and/or -oriented in any form. Donald Rumsfeld is okay, since he had to step down, and Rush Limbaugh would be open game as well.

Tell me! Who would you want there? The whole list! Tell me why if it suits your fancy.

Best wishes,

Hmmmm.... neat discussion. I think I will be coming back to add more as I think of them.

Vin Diesel goes without saying. For reasons I do not feel the need to expand upon. wink

I would love to play Prime Time Adventures with Robin Williams and the whole cast of the old "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" television show. Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Drew Carey, Cowan Mockrie... Definitely! That would be HI-larious! (Let's throw Jamie Foxx in the mix, too. He does some great impressions and he is super funny, so it would be a great game!)

Vampire the Masquerade with Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton, back in the days when they were together, wearing each other's blood in vials around their necks - not the new socially-conscious, boring Angelina.

Can we play Call of Cthulhu with H.P. Lovecraft? lol

Oooh! Ooooh! Let's play Steal Away Jordan by Julia Bond Ellingboe, the narrativist indie RPG about America's Antebellum South, where the characters are oppressed African-American slaves with different tasks and motivations. Let's ask Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Nelson Mandela, and David Duke to join us. devilish Okay, okay... that was just WRONG. lol

Lemme think some more.... !!!

Omg, I completely didn't think of Robin Williams! How could I have missed him? He would be amazing to have at an event like that...

Great invitations! ;) Now, is Lovecraft still alive? It looks like you have a lot of dead people. I didn't think about saying simply people who are alive, but then again I don't really know of any effective necromancers in my life either, so it was kind of over-looked. Know any necromancers, or do we have to get Cthulhu itself to summon Lovecraft?

Perhaps I will simply ask for the people to be living. That would be best. Although gaming with Gary Gygax would be fun, he has passed on to the other side, and I was considering this realistically as a potential idea for 2009. ;)

lol Ooooh... see, you have to be SPECIFIC. :) Otherwise my brain just goes all willy nilly, conjuering up all these crazy ideas about gaming with zombies and whatnot.

Some strange part of me would also like to see Miley Cyrus forced to play in a Kult game. Don't ask why. devilish

LMAO! I did not know what Kult was about until now, so when I figured out who Miley Cyrus was (Hannah Montana's second personality? :P), it was quite an enlightenment. Highly amusing, and a wonderful perspective on our guests.

You are sick and twisted in such a wonderful way.

And no blaming me for you going all willy nilly. Not my fault. ;P

Who in the public eye needs to be made fun of, and would actually consider joining? That's the real question here. Who could we con into roasting in-game?

That was one of the major reasons I considered popular politicians and public figures....

And yeah, roleplaying with a real lich would be fun.... Until he turned your soul into shadowfire and you no longer had the option of roleplaying with liches anymore. No good. Also a bad suggestion for inviting to the game table: Cthulhu and the Illithid. Very bad dinner guests too. :P
